The 4 Secrets to Photo Ready Nails Your Manicurist Doesn’t Talk About

Look at your nails. If you were to get engaged right now, would they be worthy of the “I said yes” Instagram pic? If the answer is no, read on. We’re revealing the 4 secrets to getting and keeping your nails photo ready.

Go for a manicure – This is your excuse to treat yourself! We recommend going once a month for maintenance. The manicurist will buff your nails, shape them, and push your cuticles back. In between visits avoid biting your nails and cuticles!

Strengthen your nails –  Nails are composed of delicate cells that are very absorbent. Because of this, they are easily affected by weather, water, and chemicals. Be conscious of what your exposing your nails to. If you’re washing the dishes, wear gloves. If it’s cold outside, moisturize your hands and wear mittens. Also, try taking a break from using nail polish remover, as it dries out the nail.

Lighten your nails – No one likes yellow, stained nails. A great at-home remedy is a lemon juice and baking soda paste. All you need is 1 tablespoon lemon juice and two tablespoons of baking soda. Stir the mixture until a paste forms, then apply the paste to your fingernails. Wash it off after 10-15 minutes.

Color – When you wear bright colored nail polish, it’s very noticeable when it chips. Unless you’re planning on touching it up every couple of days, wear a toned down color like light pink.
