An Outdoor Wedding to be Desired

The ambiance and intimacy of Julia and Travis’ wedding was just too good to not share. Across the wooden bridge to the white tent, the couple had everything an outdoor wedding pines for: lights, lanterns, laughter, and dancing. It was love down to every last detail.

Julia’s hair was set with a 2-inch barrel iron for soft waves and curls. Half of her hair was pulled back leaving a few pieces to fall loosely besides her face.

Her foundation was Face Atelier and her eyes were a combination of both Mac and Make Up For Ever. It was a blended mixture of taupes, browns, and pinks that were topped off with black liner and lashes. Her eyes were kept very soft and neutral. After all, Julia’s look was really about her Carthage Pure Matte Lipstick by Nars.

Michelle and Jeff’s Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate

Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 1Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 2Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 5Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 3Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 6Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 4Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 7Wedding at Holly Hedge Estate 8Makeup begins with the foundation. Foundation helps to diminish blemishes, evens skin tone, and leaves the makeup artist with a fresh canvas to paint. For Michelle’s, we used Temptu’s airbrush #’s 2 and 3.

The eyes are meant to draw you in; the look is made with color and depth. To accentuate Michelle’s natural beauty, we used neutral tones by Mac. The palette consisted of Soba, Brun, Saddle, and Shroom.

Soba- used on the lid and blended into the crease

Brun- used in the crease to deepen the contour of the eye

Saddle- used to blend the colors from a dark to light contrast

Shroom- used to accentuate the brow bone

To finish off the eyes, we used Mac’s blacktrax liner, added single lashes, and applied black, waterproof mascara.

Michelle’s hair is long, thick and wavy, which made it extremely easy to work with. To give her the vintage style she was looking for, we set and styled her hair off to one side. The curls were given structure, but kept soft as to not look like over-sprayed, tight curls. We then looped the curls and weaved them in to place.

Once the hair was sprayed with Kenra #9, #13, and #25, Michelle put on her vintage, Jenny Packham gown. We dusted Orgasm blush onto the apples of her cheeks for extra pop and finished her lips with Mac’s Viva Glam V gloss. When Michelle looked in the mirror she took a deep breath, and exhaled with a smile.

It was truly a pleasure to be a part of Michelle’s magical day at the Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope, Pennsylvania. I wish her and Jeff all the happiness love can bring.

Keep Problem Skin from Becoming a Wedding Problem

No one understands the fear of acne flare-ups more than those with problem skin. If you fall into this category, stop hoping your skin could just look good for once. Take control of the problem for once and for all.

Go for a facial – A professional facial works wonders on the skin and is your best bet for fast results. Most problems, however, can’t be resolved with just one facial. It takes maintenance to get your skin in a, consistently, good place. Your esthetician will help you come up with a routine and game plan after examining your skin.

Pay attention to what you’re eating – What you put into your body is everything. Try cutting down on your dairy intake, as dairy can be very clogging. Increase your intake of vegetables and be sure to drink a lot of water.

Keep track of your bathroom habits – This may sound strange, but bowel movements are one of the ways our bodies get rid of toxins. If you are not ridding of these toxins in the bathroom, they will come out in other ways, and it could be one of the reasons your skin isn’t looking its best.

If you are not experiencing regular bowel movements, try increasing your fiber intake.

Years from now you shouldn’t be looking at your wedding photos only to remember the surprise pimple that popped up for the occasion. Everyone should experience the feeling of relief that clear skin can bring. Take control of your life today.

To set up a facial call Magda, slots fill up quickly, so don’t put off making your appointment.

A Wedding at Temple Emanu-El in Closter, NJ

amy 2amy 3amy 4amy1It was January and the first snowfall of the season. Outside, everything was fading into a blanket of white, a sign of another year past. Inside, Amy was getting ready for her future, the moment she’d been dreaming of since she was a little girl.

Amy’s hair was set for soft curls. The dark brown color, a perfect contrast to her white, Maggie Sottero gown. She was given a 3/4 part with a side sweep, as well as, added body to the crown. We pulled back part of Amy’s hair and pinned it loosely.

Because Amy has fair skin, we use Face Atelier’s #2 and #3. For the eyes we used Bobbi Brown and Smashbox. The palettes we used were neutral, filled with taupes and browns. The whole look was kept light and natural. For increased depth, we used a darker brown on the outer corner of the crease. Black liner was used both on top and smudged on the bottom. For the lashes we used a black waterproof mascara.

Before we sent Amy off to enjoy the day, we dusted Bobbi Brown’s Pink Coral Blush atop the apple of her cheeks, and applied Sex Machine  to her lips.
